Where we Started

The Hotspot Library Initiative SA began in Scottsville, Cape Town, where two repurposed shipping containers and milk crates filled with donated books became a beacon of hope in the heart of gang-ridden communities. What started as a small grassroots effort has grown into a safe, welcoming space where children and adults alike can discover the joy of reading, access resources, and find inspiration for a brighter future.
